The Story
Some of my favorite memories with my dad involve a golf course, a setting sun, and absolutely no concern for how many strokes we've taken.
There's something about twilight golf.
The course starts to empty. The shadows get longer. The pace slows down. And for a couple of hours, there isn't much that matters beyond the next shot and the conversation between them.
I've played a lot of golf with my dad over the years.
I couldn't tell you what either of us shot during most of those rounds. I couldn't tell you how many fairways we hit, either. Although I could probably make a fairly educated guess.
But I remember the conversations. The laughs. The occasional shot that had no business turning out as well as it did.
And the rounds when neither of us particularly wanted to head home.
When I started building watches, I knew I wanted to make one for him.
I chose a green dial and bezel, naturally. If you're building a watch inspired by golf, the color palette practically picks itself.
And I called it Pin High.
For the golfers, that's when your approach shot finishes the right distance from the hole, even if your aim left something to be desired.
Which feels like a pretty appropriate metaphor for this game.
The first Pin High went to my dad.
And while I've built plenty of watches since, this one will always be a little different.
Because the best part of golf was never really the golf.
Although a birdie every now and then certainly doesn't hurt.
The Watch
Pin High combines classic dive-watch construction with a color scheme inspired by the golf course.
The green dial and matching bezel give the watch its signature look, housed inside a 40mm stainless steel dive case with a slim profile and 48mm lug-to-lug measurement.
A sapphire crystal protects the dial, while the 120-click rotating bezel adds the familiar functionality of a traditional diver.
Inside is the Seiko NH35 automatic movement, known for its reliability and straightforward mechanical construction.
The stainless steel Oyster-style bracelet features a sliding deployment clasp with micro-adjustment, making it easy to dial in a comfortable fit.
It's a watch built for the golf course, the office, and whatever comes after the eighteenth hole.
Just don't expect it to fix your slice.
